NCSI's training partnership with internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas Management Institute

NCS International has partnered with the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute to bring Australian industry internationally recognised training in corporate greenhouse emissions accounting.

The Greenhouse Gas Management Institute’s Basics of Organisational Accounting coupled with NCS International’s NGER compliance public course is the essential first step for systematically assessing corporate carbon risks, preparing Greenhouse inventories, quantifying emissions, tracking performance and publicly reporting your carbon footprint. The course is based on the international standard for Corporate Greenhouse reporting ISO 14064-1, WBCSD/WRI GHG Protocol and the NGER legislative framework.

Basics of Organisational GHG Accounting

The comprehensive 3-day course comprises 2 days intensive training on the fundamentals of carbon accounting protocols and standards followed by 1 day training on specifics of complying with NGER reporting. Courses commence in June and July 2010 in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Click Here to Register Now!

What does defferal of the CPRS mean?

Deferral of the CPRS may add to more business uncertainty about the impact of carbon pricing.

Whether the government implements the CPRS by 2013 may be a mute point because the first commitment period under the Kyoto Protocol ends in 2012 anyway. Thereafter, a new negotiated framework will most likely emerge with more stringent emission reduction commitments by the world’s major economies. The strategy being implemented by many businesses, especially larger greenhouse gas emitters and energy users regulatedby NGER legislation, is to exercise due diligence and start gathering and reporting meaningful data on their greenhouse gas inventory. This information is essential to determine potential business impacts under a range of carbon pricing scenarios.

Special Offer: Carbon footprinting for Small to Medium Enterprises

Many small and medium enterprises, want to demonstrate their carbon reduction commitments by voluntarily disclosing their carbon footprint and offsetting their emissions. Some companies are also offsetting 100% of their greenhouse emissions and becoming carbon neutral.

NCS International now offers SMEs the opportunity of cost-effective independent verification, assurance and certification of their carbon footprint. SMEs have the option of using a customisable reporting template and user-friendly carbon footprint calculator designed for use by companies whose greenhouse inventory comprises mainly electricity use and fuel use for heating and transport.
