Sustainable Baking: Homestyle Bake harvests another excellence award

NCSI would like to congratulate our client Homestyle Bakeries Pty Ltd in their recent win at the Queensland Baking Industry Awards held in Brisbane. The award recognises Homestyle Bake as a business that significantly limits its impact upon the environment.

In the current environmentally conscious business world, more and more organisations are utilising their management systems to reduce and eliminate factors that effect their carbon footprint. Over the past few years Homestyle Bake has implemented numerous environmental initiatives via their management system to assist them REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.

Homestyle's proactive approach to minimising its carbon footprint is yet another example of the organisation preparing itself for the future. With recently winning awards for their apprentices, Homestyle bake is investing in their employees and harvesting the rewards of their labour.

Earlier on this year, one of Homestyle's first year apprentices competed in the WorldSkills competition and was successful in his category in a bake off against the best in the world. By fostering the talent of their employees through training and competitions Homestyle is putting in the framework to build the business. This training framework is a part of their comprehensive management systems which covers all aspects of the business from quality and food safety to environmental.
