Abstract:
Specifies requirements for quality management systems. The requirements are generic, i.e. applicable to organizations regardless of size, type, industry, product or service. A quality management system that meets the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9001 can be used for internal application by organizations, for certification and for contractural purposes. It focuses on the quality management system’s effectiveness in meeting customer requirements, and may be used to demonstrate the ability to meet customer requirements, prevent nonconformity and address customer satisfaction and quality improvement. This Standard is identical with and has been reproduced from ISO 9001:2008. To assist organizations currently using AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 to make the transition to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008, the 2000 edition will remain available superseded until December 2011.
Revised after 8 years! AS/NZS ISO 9001 has been updated to address the needs of business and the community. It can help improve efficiency, boost customer confidence in products and services and increase staff morale and productivity.
